I had been to Hawaii several times but this was the first time I was able to visit the garden island of Kauai, and it is certainly one of the most beautiful. It is also an island of contrasts, with lush tropical landscapes, rugged canyons, and a volcanic coastline laced with white sand beaches. And for anyone looking for fun and delicious activities, Kauai doesn’t disappoint.I . Further information on land use and crop production by island are detailed in the Hawai‘i Department of Agriculture’s Statewide Agricultural Land Use Baseline report. Labor Resources The next generation of farmers, ranchers and agricultural entrepreneurs are critical to meeting Hawai‘i’s local production goal. As a result, agriculture represents less than five percent of the total water use on Kauai. How the County of Kaua'i Department of Water delivers water to you. The Department of Water carefully tracks the performance of its island-wide array of 51 wells, 60 tanks, 2 tunnels, 19 booster pump stations and 75 control valve stations.   Kauai is the oldest island in Hawaii and the 4th largest, has an area of 1, km². Also known as the “Garden Isle”. Kauai is located miles ( km) across the Strait of Kauai, Southwest Oahu. Derived from the volcano, the highest peak on this mountainous island is Kawaikini at 1, m (5, ft).

It’s true that every Hawaiian island has something different to offer—and it’s equally true that there is an endless amount of adventure and experiences to be had even on a single island. So we set out in all directions: We took the kids to Hawaii, we ate the best food on Maui, we dove into everything new on Oahu, and.
